Celebrating Nine Years of WeInspireWe

As we celebrate nine years of serving and growing leaders across the globe, I've found myself reflecting on the true purpose of milestones.

At first glance, they seem to measure achievement or time. Nine years. Ten years. Twenty-five years. Fifty years.

Yet the longer I live, the more I wonder if milestones were ever meant to measure time or the achievements we’ve made along the way.

What if they're about discovery, making meaning and connection?

Not simply making meaning of the years that have passed, but of the journey we've shared. . . the work we've done, the relationships we've nurtured, the lessons we've learned, and perhaps most importantly, who we've become in the process.

In a world that celebrates what's next, milestones gently call us back to what's now.

They invite us to pause. Not because the journey is over. But because this moment matters.

They offer us the gift of perspective. It’s an opportunity to look back with gratitude, stand fully in the present, and move forward with purposeful intention.

An invitation to pause

I’ve noticed a pattern with clients who bypass opportunities to celebrate their own wins. How might it be to acknowledge that your moments matter too?

Before you continue reading, take a moment. With gentle contemplation, consider a milestone you've recently experienced, no matter how big or small.

It could be completing a project, celebrating a birthday, navigating a difficult season, or simply making it through a week that asked so much of you.

What deserves celebrating that you almost overlooked?

As I reflect on our anniversary, I'm reminded that every meaningful celebration is about far more than an organization, an achievement, or a date on the calendar.

Celebrations remind us that none of us arrives anywhere alone.

Behind every milestone are countless moments of encouragement, collaboration, courage, generosity, and shared purpose. There are people who believed in us, challenged us, inspired us, and walked beside us when the path wasn't always clear.

Acknowledging milestones is less about reminding us how far we've come.

It's about remembering who helped us get here. No company reaches nine years because of one visionary. No team succeeds because of one leader. No family thrives because of one person.

We become who we are...together.

Meaning is rarely created alone. It's cultivated in relationship with ourselves, with one another, and with the communities that help us become who we're meant to be.

An Invitation to Pause

Think about someone who has been part of your journey. Someone whose encouragement, wisdom, or presence helped shape who you are today. Before the day ends, send them a message to express your appreciation.

Don't wait for the next anniversary.

I offer this gentle reminder that this truth extends far beyond the workplace.

It lives in our homes, where families gather to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and new beginnings. It lives in our neighborhoods and communities, where people come together in times of joy, challenge, and hope.

And it lives within organizations that understand their greatest strength isn't found only in strategy or performance, but in the relationships that make meaningful work possible.

Celebrations do more than honor what we've accomplished. They strengthen the relationships that make future accomplishments possible. They remind us that we belong to something larger than ourselves. They cultivate the kind of cultures where people feel seen, valued, and inspired to contribute.

An Invitation to Pause

At your next team meeting, family dinner, or gathering with friends, begin with one simple question:

What contribution(s) do you wish someone had noticed?

Every day, countless decisions, conversations, and small acts of collaboration keep an organization moving forward. Yet it's often the nuanced moments—the encouraging word, the shared problem-solving, the willingness to support one another—that become the threads woven into the fabric of a thriving culture.

Experience has shown me that fulfillment isn't found only in reaching milestones. It's cultivated in how we choose to acknowledge them. When we pause long enough to celebrate together, we strengthen connection. We deepen trust. We inspire hope. We have meaningful impact.

And we remind one another that our lives and our work are enriched through the people with whom we share them. Perhaps that's the greatest gift of a milestone.

It reminds us not only of what we've accomplished, but of who we're becoming together.

One Final Invitation

As we celebrate nine years, my hope isn't simply that we celebrate another anniversary, my hope is that we become people who notice.

People who pause long enough to witness growth before rushing toward the next goal.

People who make space for every voice, every contribution, and every relationship that shaped us and every quiet act of courage that helped carry us here.

May we celebrate not only milestones, but the meaning they invite us to make. May we honor not only the destination, but the people who made the journey worthwhile. Because perhaps milestones aren't about measuring time after all.

Perhaps they're gentle invitations to pause, to remember, to be witnessed.

And to continue building a world where we inspire one another to flourish.

After all . . .we inspire we.
